April appdates for Windows Phone

Posted on April 26, 2012

I was surprised with the number of recent updates for Windows Phone apps the past few days.  Here are some the apps that got a lot better with new features this month of April:

This would have been useful in my French classes before as it now provides offline translations.  There is also support for augmented reality as well as voice translations.  My favorite feature?  The live tile displays a word of a day which would have been useful in increasing my French vocabulary.

The final version is now out.  Managing friends in Skype is easier, and video calls support portrait mode.

Version 2 makes it easier to manage files, as multiple files can now be selected.  Privacy settings can now be adjusted in this app version. They also announce that the default SkyDrive file limit is now down to 7 GB. However, for a limited time only, existing users can get an upgrade back to 25 GB for FREE! Just visit http://skydrive.live.com and get your FREE upgrade.

Earn more gamerpoints and achievements!  Wordament is now part of Xbox Live.  How I wish the make some of the achievements easier.

Also, Tango update for Windows Phone is coming soon.  Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 users will finally get to share their Internet connection with this update.  Currently, only Lumia 610 (running on Tango) and Lumia 900 have internet sharing enabled.

How about you, what appdates did you get recently?  Happy appdating!
